Overweight Vehicle Permits

OVERWEIGHT VEHICLES
Overweight permits allow access to restricted roads for vehicles exceeding road weight limits. Permits are not issued during spring load restrictions except in emergency situations. Agricultural permits are still required and issued at no charge.

Seasonal load limits for spring load restrictions are enforced concurrent with Minnesota Department of Transportation (MNDOT) Metro Spring Load Restriction zone. Visit the Minnesota Department of Transportation for more information.

ALL city streets (unless other noted or posted), including new development streets will be restricted and posted at a maximum 5 ton per axle weight limit during seasonal load limits.

Special Note:
The following roads will be posted at 4 ton per axle weight limit and may remain posted throughout the year:
Schutte Road
Larkin Road (between County Road 116 and County Road 10)
Hackamore Road (between Old Settlers Road and Butterworth Lane)

The following roads will be posted at 9 ton per axle weight limit:
Larkin Road (between County Road 116 and Old Settlers Road)
Commerce Street, Auger Avenue, and 75th Avenue (Downtown Commercial/Industrial)
Trail Haven Road (between County Road 30 and Grove Nursery Driveway Entrance ONLY)
