City Council Filings
The following four-year term seats for City Council will be on November 3, 2026 general election ballot:
- Council Member (term ending Dec. 31, 2030)
- Council Member (term ending Dec. 31, 2030)
Filing Period
The filing period for the above seats is Tuesday, July 14, 2026 through 5 p.m. on Tuesday, July 28, 2026. The deadline to withdraw is 5 p.m. on Thursday, July 30. Individuals wishing to file must file with the City Clerk.
Candidate Requirements
Listed below are the filing requirements for those individuals seeking public office.
- Candidate must be an eligible voter.
- Candidate is, or will be on assuming the office, 21 years of age or older.
- Candidate has maintained residence in the district from which the candidate seeks election for 30 days before the general election.
Filing Documents
The following forms and fee are required to be filed with the City Clerk when filing for office:
- Affidavit of Candidacy
- Code of Ethics Disclosure Form
- Statement of Economic Interest (due within 14 days of close of filing)
- $10 filing fee

Campaign Finance Reports
City Council candidates must complete Campaign Financial Reporting Forms.
The initial report is due within 14 days after receiving contributions or making disbursements of more than $750.
Subsequent reports are due:
- 10 days before the primary or special primary (even if the candidate is not on primary ballots)
- 10 days before the general election or special election
- 30 days after the general election or special election
- By January 31 of each year until a final report is filed.
A final report is due when all assests are settled and all assets are disposed of in excess of $100.
Per MN 211A.02, Subd. 6, the City of Corcoran is required to post the campaing financial reports of its candidates on the city website within 30 days of receiving the information.
These reports will be available until four years from the date of report.
