The City of Corcoran has two council member positions (4-year term), and a mayor position (4-year term) included on the General Election ballot on November 5, 2024. The candidate filing date for the 2024 General Election opens July 30, 2024 and continues through August 13, 2024. The candidate withdrawal date is August 15, 2024.

In the next municipal election year 2024, the City of Corcoran has two council member position (4-year terms), and a mayor position (4-year term) included on the ballot. Candidate filing for 2024 is open from July 30, 2024, through August 13, 2024.

Listed below are the filing requirements for those individuals seeking public office.

  1. Candidate must be an eligible voter. 
  2. Candidate is, or will be on assuming the office, 21 years of age or older. 
  3. Candidate has maintained residence in the district from which the candidate seeks election for 30 days before the general election. 
  4. Candidates must file an Affidavit of Candidacy and pay a $10 filing fee with the City Clerk’s office at Corcoran City Hall located at 8200 County Road 116, Corcoran, MN 55340. City Hall is open 8 a.m. - 5 p.m. Monday through Thursday, and 8 a.m. - Noon on Fridays.

Email Questions in Advance or Submit at Event
Voters attending the forum have two opportunities to submit questions to the candidates. Written questions will be accepted throughout the forum. Voters can also submit questions in advance to The League at [email protected]. The League of Women Voters policy keeps the identity of the person asking the question confidential. Any questions submitted via email will remain confidential with all identifying information removed before the event. Audience members will also have the opportunity to submit questions in writing at the event, in accordance with published Forum Rules.
